City of Sacramento: Realizing Routing Efficiencies and Expense Reduction

The search for a GPS system had the City of Sacramento talking to a lot of potential vendors. Keith Leech, Fleet Manager for the City of Sacramento said, “It is the EVIR solution for pre-and post-trip inspections that made Zonar stand-out from everyone else. It’s the only product of its kind. That’s why we chose Zonar.”As part of the implementation, Zonar worked with the City of Sacramento to gather Return-on-Investment (ROI) data. The City of Sacramento provided the ”before” data from the extensive records they kept regarding vehicle performance. Zonar provided the “after” data from its electronic data collection. Avion Solutions, an independent firm, was hired to perform the before and after analysis.
With Zonar:
• Fuel Efficiency: Miles per Gallon (MPG) increased 8.14%.
• Fuel Savings: Before and after analysis yields an average saving of 24.7%.
• Usage Change: Route optimization increased usage savings up to 96%.
• Fuel Trend: A trend analysis projects additional future savings to be realized.
