Seattle, WA – July 1, 2010 – Zonar Systems, a leader in the telematics industry and provider of electronic fleet management solutions, received Connected World Magazine’s prestigious Gold M2M Value Chain Award for their fleet management solutions implemented by Goodfellow Bros., Inc.Connected World Magazine’s M2M Value Chain Awards honor the most successful corporate adopters of machine-to-machine (M2M) technology and the team of solution providers that made their success possible, highlighting the process of combining multiple technologies and how all of the elements of the M2M value chain create a winning solution for the end customer.

Goodfellow Bros., Inc. is a large heavy civil construction company with a fleet of trucks and heavy equipment across three states, including Hawaii. The company’s firm commitment to safety was a major motivator for implementing the Zonar fleet management system.

The system automatically schedules maintenance and repairs when pre-defined limits are reached and it calls for immediate service in the case of a problem or emergency, often before the operator is even aware of the issue. Zonar’s system saved Goodfellow Bros. more than $56,000 in the first year by reducing idle time alone and has also helped recover stolen vehicles while also saving countless hours by automating communication between Goodfellow’s equipment and the people responsible for ensuring its operational effectiveness.
