Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) Tags RFID tags are placed in critical safety zones around the vehicle. They are highly durable and weather-resistant, unaffected by mud, grease or ice. They are also warranted for the life of the vehicle. RFID tags require no power or connection to the vehicle's electrical system and are activated when the driver positions the handheld reader within a few inches of the tag. There are 3 types of RFID tags: Asset, containing specific vehicle information; Zone, containing zone specific information; and Driver, containing unique id numbers.
Zonar 2010 Handheld Reader The Zonar 2010 Handheld Reader reads the RFID tags that have been placed around the vehicle. This patented method provides proof that the driver was physically present in the inspection zone and completed the process. The information is transmitted to secure servers and recorded in a database.
